Sugar Cookie Icing

Hey guys! So I hope you all enjoyed yesterday’s post on how to make some seriously tasty Christmas cookies. Today, in conjunction with that post, I’m going to share with you how I made the icing for the cookies. This recipe is fairly easy to follow and the icing is shiny and solid once it’s completely dried.


What you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of confectioner’s sugar
  • 4 tsp of light corn syrup
  • ½ tsp of almond extract
  • 4 tsp of milk
  • Whatever food coloring and other edible decorations you want to use

In a small or medium-sized bowl, mix together the milk and confectioner’s sugar.


Once this is done, add in the almond extract and corn syrup and beat until the mixture is glossy.

At this point, the icing is essentially done. Just divide the icing into separate bowl and add your food coloring until you have as many colors as you want.


Then, decorate your cookies! I tend to use a knife to spread the icing because I think the mixture is just a tad too thick to pipe it using a pastry bag. And that’s really all there is to it!
